Top 15 Washington School Districts

There is no doubt that Washington, specifically the Seattle area, is growing, but what does that mean for our public-school system? Usually, that means our class sizes grow and become slightly less one-on-one, unless our systems and tools are growing alongside our population.

Depending on what you’re rating, graduation rate, class size, test scores, etc., you and your neighbor might have a different determination of what makes a great school or district the best. Schools are one thing families looking to grow might look into when searching for their new home, and with good reason.

Niche.com combines statistical data with authentic reviews to rate districts. Similar to websites like Yelp for food, Niche has reviews from real families, with real experiences rating on their site, and while their reviews are only a portion of their rating, it’s an excellent resource and provides “real life” insight into the district or school.

This list is a combination of smaller districts and mega-districts, proving that smaller schools and districts can achieve educational success and college-readiness with limited resources and small funding pools. According to Eric Webb, superintendent for the Orcas Island School District, success in schools can be found by shifting focus to education for all grades and not on barriers that separate.
