Check out Atelier, their full-menu coming Fall 2018.

If you love Ben & Jerry’s in the ice cream aisle at Safeway, you’ll likely love their brick and mortar location in Bellevue Square Mall. Their plethora of ice cream flavors will tantalize your taste buds – and you can even order an ice cream cake (yes, please!) or ask about catering!

Sweet, creamy, small-batch ice cream made from scratch – that’s what you’re promised at Sweet Alchemy Ice Creamery. Amazing Mountain Lakes in Washington State

Amazing Mountain Lakes in Washington State

The Pacific Northwest is a great place to take a vacation – for locals and visitors alike. We’re lush and green and totally serene, especially in these amazing mountain lakes. If you’re thinking of taking a vacation – whether it be short or long – consider one of these Washington Lakes.

Lake Chelan is long and snake-like, but that just means more options, right? Off State Route 97 and Highway 971, Lake Chelan touches a ton of cities and communities which offers visitors a ton of places outside of Chelan proper to explore. Stay in Chelan at the Campbell’s Resort on Lake Chelan, try one of Manson’s many stays, or venture into the forest and try one of the surrounding Lake Chelan National Recreation Area’s campsites – just make sure to book in advance!

Settled on either side of Highway 207, you can visit Lake Wenatachee and nearby Fish Lake. Both in the greater Okanoga-Wenatchee National Forest, you’ll enjoy beaches, rivers, trail hiking, water fun, wildlife watching, and all the other wonders nature has to offer.

The triple-threat of Cle Elum Lake, Kachess Lake, and Keechelus Lake off Interestate 90. Though Cle Elum Lake is the closest to Ronald and the Suncadia Resort, but each has their own little refuge, depensing on what you’re looking for. Kachess Lake is nearby Easton – and Lake Easton – while Keechelus Lake is nearest the Snoqualmie Pass and Hidden Valley Ski Area.

Related Reading:

Lake Crescent and nearby Lake Sutherland are just a half-hour out of Port Angeles off State Route 101. Offering tons of water activities, you can often find a rental home, check out local campsites, or stay at the Lake Crescent Lodge. Enjoy hiking, swimming boating, or exploring the Olympic Discovery Trail loop. Lake Sutherland is a little more residential, but they have tons of Air BNB options if you book in advance!

Whether you’re trying to plan a daytrip, a long-weekend, or a week-long adventure-extravaganza, these are great, local places to check out. As always, this isn’t a one-sided conversation, so if we missed your favorite Washington Lake, tell us about it in the comments section below!

Love Frozen Yogurt Any Day of the Week? Check Out These Froyo Shops…

Love Frozen Yogurt Any Day of the Week? Check Out These Froyo Shops…

Who said you couldn’t have yogurt as anything but breakfast? We think you should be able to enjoy what you want, when you want it! These are our five favorite local yogurt places (not all of them are “froyo” shops)!

Related Reading:

The Juicy Spot Café is one of the University District’s favorite frozen yogurt establishments, and highly regarded by both locals and visitors alike. Touted as New York’s “first & finest”, you’ll find them across the United States, including two locations in New York, one in Boston, and one in Seattle. If you haven’t already, create your first “roll” today!

With 1,500 Yelp reviews, Ellenos Real Greek Yogurt has an accumulated 5-star rating. No, seriously. They have less than 200 less-than-5-star reviews. We think that makes them a pretty decent little spot! Located in the coveted Pike Place Market, this little yogurt shop uses real Greek yogurt to create their traditional recipes. Straight from their family to you.

You’ve probably seen Zoeyogurt around a few times… They opened in 2011 with their Greenlake location and they’ve since opened another in Newcastle.

If you find yourself fin the Renton area, head to Cherry De Pon – but keep an open mind! Their flavors are delicious, but they offer inventive, bright, and super delicious flavors including match tea, taro, and coconut.

Menchie’s might be a chain, but people love going there to indulge. This frozen yogurt place offers smiles alongside creamy and inventive flavors, including cold brew coffee, devil’s food cake, double espresso tiramisu, honeydew sorbet, the “grasshopper” and more!

We know there a ton more options out there! What are your favorites? Favorite shops, favorite flavors – we’d love to hear about it! Leave your stories in the comments below!

8 Washington Water Activities for the Summer Heat!

8 Washington Water Activities for the Summer Heat!

Water activities go hand-in-hand with the Pacific Northwest and summer. Our temperature is a slow climb this year, but that might be for the better – sometimes things get a little chaotic when the summer comes too early.

But if you’re looking for something to do that’s water-related, these area great options…

Dip your feet in the Pacific Ocean at Ocean Shores. My dogs love going to “the water” and the ocean is one of the best places to do. Drive up onto the shores park off-site and enjoy the small, oceanside town between beach galivants.

Paddleboard, swim, fish or more – at Green Lake in Green Lake, Seattle. Green Lake offers so many possibilities and you can rent equipment for the day if you don’t have any of your own. No paddles – no problem, here!

Walk the Seattle Waterfront and enjoy all the waterside activities. The Seattle Aquarium, shopping, Pike Place Market… There are endless things to do along Seattle’s updated (and updating) waterfront infrastructure.

Related Reading:

Take a ferry out of the city. Another favorite way to explore our region is to take a ferry and just love the day. Bask in the sun, eat at new and exciting places, and maybe see a festival while you’re there! Especially during the summer

Dare to white-water raft in the Washington mountains. What a great way to enjoy the outdoors and try something new – and if you have done it, it’s almost peak season!

Let loose at Alki Beach Park. Alki Beach if one of Seattle’s most popular parks – and it’s waterside! Enjoy beach volleyball, start a campfire for the evening, barbeque and more. Try rollerblading down the boulevard. You’re just a few steps away from local eats, so you don’t have to pack a lunch if you don’t want to!

Of course, you could also hike a new trail, scale a local mountain, do for a daytrip somewhere new, or even explore the local streets of the city you live in. All great options for getting out into the outdoors!

Did we miss one of your favorite activities?

Things To Do In & Around Seattle, Washington

Things To Do In & Around Seattle, Washington

Last week we talked difference neighborhoods in Seattle. This week, we’re going to tackle some of the best things to do when you’re new or visiting the Seattle area.

Because the location region is massive and ripe with activities, there are boundless options to choose from. The Greater Seattle Area offers an array of outdoorsy and indoors experiences, which can range from shopping to mountain biking, to rock climbing, equestrian excursions, vast musical preferences, and so much more.

Because of our natural, and seemingly ever-changing weather, Seattle offers many of these options in indoor and outdoor options.

Summer fun is right around the corner – and, for many, it’s already here! Which means Farmers Markets galore! We’ve already done two blog posts, one on Eastside Farmers Markets and one on South End Farmers Markets, so we won’t spend to much time on this, but basically, they’re everywhere and pretty well spread out throughout the week.

Farmers Markets are great opportunities for consumers to buy local and make face-to-face conversation with farmers and representatives from around the region – and there are a lot more to choose from than on this list. Chances are, your community or a neighboring community will have one! And if those days don’t jive with your days-off, you can always visit the Pike Place Market any day, because they’re open 24/7!

Another thing the Pacific Northwest is known for is mountainous terrain, pristine mountain lakes, and easy-to-advanced trails. We find most of our information at the Washington Trails Association, or WTA.org, which offers tons of information, including their motto and vision for connecting Washington trails, detailed information about each trail in their system, and other actionable resources!

If you’re looking to explore the region, check out these related reading articles:

Did you know that Washington currently has 92 communities that take part in the ArborDay.org’s Tree City USA proclamation? Including Seattle-area cities such as, Bellevue, Clyde Hill, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond, Seattle, Shoreline, Woodinville, and Yarrow Point – and that’s just a small sample!

Washington as a whole, but the region especially has emphasized parks and open spaces as a huge part of city planning – and it totally shows. As a byproduct, we have some of the best parks and recreations spaces around.

With so many, it might be hard to choose – here are some favorites we’ve already talked about:

Okay, but what about a few indoors activities for those chilly days? Don’t fret, Seattle also has those! If you’re looking for kid-centric ideas, you should check out our two related readings below – because they give awesome options for parents looking to keep active even during rainy or cloudy days.

If you’re looking for something more well-rounded, you can try any of these awesome ideas:

That rounds out our list of things to do in Seattle, whether you’re a visitor or native to the area. If you have any other ideas, we’d love to hear about them in the comments below!

A Quick Guide to Seattle Neighborhoods

A Quick Guide to Seattle Neighborhoods

The City of Seattle has been growing by leaps and bounds recently, with an estimated 250,000 population growth since 2010 – that’s 19.1%. Because of this recent population boom, we figured we’d go over some of our favorite parts of Seattle, what makes our region amazing, and in which neighborhood you might call home.

Built as an accumulation of communities, each neighborhood in Seattle offers its own brand of home. Here at LiveOnGuides.com, we’ve built out each area of neighborhood to help you decide where might best suit your personal preferences. But first, if you’re wanting to stay in-the-know with the most updated real estate market analytics, be sure to subscribe to our sister site, TheMarketTalks.com.

Without further ado, let’s dive into Seattle neighborhoods!

North Seattle is a broad term, which refers to neighborhoods in Seattle’s “northern” area, including Northgate, Maple Leaf, Meadowbrook, Pinehurst, Lake City, Victory Heights, Olympic Hills, Cedar Park, and Jackson Park. Lake City along State Route 522 and Northgate offer the bulk of the area’s dining and shopping choices.

Ballard is a quaint, family-friendly neighborhood with lots of walkability – and is easily recognized as one of Seattle’s most coveted and hippest neighborhoods. Lots of families and lots of rich history surrounds Ballard.

Always bustling Green Lake is a north central Seattle neighborhood surrounding the ever-popular Green Lake, which offers year-round activities, including a 2.8-mile perimeter for runners, bikers, etc., water activities, and other interpretive goings-on.

Another sleepy neighborhood with a vibrant “downtown” neighborhood culture is Fremont. Situated between Ballard and Wallingford and across the Ship Canal from Queen Anne, which little community has a lot to offer in boutique shopping and commuter options – and don’t for get to say hello to the local Troll!

Resting along 45th Street, just north of the Lake Union, Wallingford is a community that rests west of I-5, and slopes down towards the Lake Union waters. Most of the area’s commercial district rests along N 45th and contains an array of boutique shopping, local restaurants, and easy conveniences. Gas Works Park is Wallingford’s most notably park, which offers panoramic views into Lake Union and the city of Seattle, as well as offers insight into the neighborhood’s rich history.

Laurelhurst-Wedgewood encompasses a large area, which includes Ravenna, the University District, Hawthorne Hills, Windermere, and Sand Point – and all-together they create Northeast Seattle. Though mostly residential neighborhoods, each offers a little commercial hub which includes the basics, such as grocery, shopping, coffeehouses, and restaurants.

Home to Seattle’s largest park, which is 534-acre Discovery Park, Magnolia rests on a natural peninsula located just west of Queen Anne and across the Ballard Locks from Ballard. Just out of reach of Seattle’s hustle and bustle, Magnolia offers a unique, urban tranquility no-quite found in other neighborhoods.

Due east of Magnolia, Queen Anne offers both astounding and somewhat famous views of Seattle’s cityscape. Though Queen Anne contains many of the steepest streets of Seattle, it’s not the highest point in the city. Queen Anne Avenue North offers much of the commercial activity on the hill, as well as the neighborhood’s Farmer’s Market.

Seattle’s Broadmoor neighborhood would be Seattle’s boutique neighborhood, if we ever had one. Broadmoor is a private community nestled inside the Broadmoor Golf Club and is near other communities, such as Madison Park and Denny-Blaine.

Located east of Broadmoor, along the shores of Lake Washington, you’ll find Madison Park. Considered by many an urban retreat, you’ll see why when you visit as it’s tucked away between sparkling waters and the Washington Park Arboretum. Madison Park offers an upscale commercial district that both draws people to the community and is beloved by neighborhood patrons.

Set in Seattle’s Downtown, Belltown is Seattle’s most walkable neighborhood and offers easy commuter options and convenience public transportation options, plus you’re never too far from trendy restaurants, art galleries, boutique shopping, music venues, and some of Seattle’s most beautiful high-rises!

Though mostly a commercial mega-house, Seattle’s Downtown neighborhood offers several luxury, high-rise condominiums and apartment developments built in the past couple decades – and living in Seattle’s heart, you’ll enjoy your pick of local food, shopping, lodging, and activities.

Definitely Seattle’s most diverse and unique neighborhood, Capitol Hill and the adjoining First Hill offer “old Seattle charm” in a thriving urban epicenter. Bookstores, bakeries, epic restaurants, music venues… everything can be found walking along Broadway Avenue and adjoining streets.

Located south of Madison Park, the Madrona-Leschi area also rests along the shores of Lake Washington and is home to many beach parks and Lake Washington view homes. Madrone offers a small commercial district along 34th Avenue between Pike Street and Spring Street, while Leschi offers a small commercial hub near the junction of Lake Washington Boulevard and Lakeside Avenue.

Perched on top of Beacon Hill, the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle offers sweeping views of Seattle and surrounding areas and easy access to I-5, I-90, and downtown Seattle. Currently, the area is seeing tons of revitalization and friendly communities.

South Seattle includes neighborhoods like Seward Park, Columbia City, and the Rainier Valley, among others, each with their own local ambiance and vibes. A local-favorite Farmer’s Market is run in its Columbia City neighborhood and offers easy access and parking with relatively low traffic.

Last on our list is Seattle’s West Seattle neighborhood, which is west of South Seattle across the Duwamish Waterway and includes neighborhoods such as North Admiral, Alki, South Park, Delridge, Fauntleroy, and White Center. Other notable commercial-centric areas include the California Junction and the Morgan Street Junction, both of which fall along the neighborhood’s premier street: California Avenue.

As one can see, Seattle has so many neighborhoods, that it’s easy to get lost in one and forget about the many others, but hopefully this guide can outline each and help you choose your favorite!

Looking to Stay Active this Summer? Here’s 7 State Parks for Each Day of the Week

Looking to Stay Active this Summer? Here’s 7 State Parks for Each Day of the Week

The Puget Sound Regions offers a ton of natural beauty – and a bunch of State Parks are within a short drive from home. Read through the end to see our long list of Seattle-Tacoma State Parks, but before we get into that, we’re going to share our 7 favorite state parks to visit this summer.

Bridle Trails State Park is a park we’ve previously done a somewhat small expose on. To read that and about more Kirkland adventures, click here. Otherwise, this 489-acre day-use park offers an array of activities and is extremely close to Seattle and the Eastside (it’s literally smack-dap between Bellevue, Kirkland, and Redmond, with easy access to I-405 and I-90).

Unlike some of the other parks on this list, Bridle Trails was designed for equestrians and offers 28-miles of horse trails surrounded by a “horse-friendly culture.” They sport four sports arenas and a “calendar full of horse shows and organize rides.” Because of this, please keep in mind that horses always have the right-of-way on trails.

It probably comes to no surprise that Lake Sammamish State Park is one of our favorite parks, in fact, we’ve already done an expose on the park. Click here or here to read the entire article. But our main highlight for this park is definitely the variety it offers. This 531-acre park offers 6,858 feet of waterfront, 1.5 miles of biking trails, 1.5 miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, freshwater fishing, swimming, sports fields, wildlife viewing, and bird watching.

Especially since summer’s coming up – you’re probably interested in the water activities, which include boating, freshwater fishing, kayaking and paddleboard rentals, swimming, waterskiing, and personal watercraft use with launch areas.

Squak Mountain State Park sits between Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park and Tiger Mountain State Forest – both of which are amazing places on their own. While all three mountains offer their own brand of challenging mountainscape to traverse, Squak Mountain is great for the “everyday” hiker, as the trek from base to summit isn’t especially long, only 13 miles, and the mountain offers a mix of both flat and steep portions of the trail. Plus, you can bring your horse and enjoy 6 miles of designated equestrian trail.

Breathtakingly beautiful, Olallie State Park offers scenic journeys through the Pacific Northwest mountainscape. Along the western slopes of the cascades, this park is only 45 minutes from Seattle and an easy, one-day adventure. Easy to moderate trails lead to the two main waterfalls, Twin Falls and Weeks Falls, but you’ll also find lesser known, smaller, and less crowded falls along the trail, too.

Though Olallie State Park only offers about 6 miles of hiking trail and 20 miles of mountain bike trails, long-distance mountaineers and cyclists can reach the Palouse to Cascades Trail from the Cedar Falls trailhead, making it an amazing option for families and trainees.

Olallie State Park sprawls across 2,329 acres, with excellent fishing options on the South Fork of the Snoqualmie River, challenging cliffsides for rock climbing/bouldering, and wildlife viewing.

Abound with 541 acres of pure Pacific Northwest leisure, the Kanaskat-Palmer State Park sits on a low, forested plateau, with 2 miles of shoreline on the Green River. Perfect for daytrips for weekend getaways, they offer 3 miles of biking trails, 3 miles of hiking trails, freshwater fishing, swimming, white-water boating, and other exploratory activities.

Gorgeous water, gentle trails, and sprawling lawns offers the perfect place for individuals and families to enjoy and soak-up the summertime sunshine. With 25 tent spaces, 19 partial hookups, and 6 yurts, you can make an enjoyable afternoon into a weekend of fun and leisure!

Last, but mostly definitely not least, Lake Easton State Park offers the most varied activities list on this compilation. They offer the usual, such as, camping, hiking, picnicking, mountain biking, freshwater fishing, boating, swimming, personal watercrafting, sports courts, lawn activities, and wildlife viewing; but they also offer more localized activities, including cross-country skiing, dog sledding, snowmobiling, and other snow-play recreational opportunities.

With 697 acres, including 24,000 feet of freshwater access on the shores of Lake Easton, this park has plenty of room to explore the foothills of the Cascade Mountains.

That completes our list of top State Parks in the Seattle-Tacoma region, but don’t think this list is the be-all, end-all of Washington State Parks – not even by a longshot. We’ve included the long-list we previously promised you below, but be sure to check out their website to see the complete list of Washington State Parks.

Here’s the long-list we promised you:

What are your favorite state parks in the area? Let us know in the comments below what you’re favorite parks are – we’d love to hear about them!

A Full Week of Planned, Summer Fun! Check Out These 7 Seattle-Area Activities

A Full Week of Planned, Summer Fun! Check Out These 7 Seattle-Area Activities

Now that summer is officially here, we’ll need to start packing our calendar with days of endless summer fun – and we’ve got a full week planned ahead!

WILD WAVES in the summer is often packed so why not start before the rush from the out-of-schoolers? They open on May 26th, so that gives you plenty of time to add it to your schedule. Don’t like the water? Try the rides! Don’t like the rides? Try the games! There’s a little bit of everything for everyone, and they’re adding more great stuff for this summer season! Hot Tip: Try planning to go during the week (even less people, means fewer and shorter lines!)

Enjoy ALKI BEACH and watch our breathtaking Pacific Northwest sunsets. Even if you don’t live in West Seattle, you should see these at least once in your life – and it’s not like they’re going to kick you off the beach, or anything! It’s hard to go a summer without someone mentioning or hosting an Alki party, and the cozy waterside vibe is indicative of the laid-back community.

Kayak or stand-up paddle board on the lazy waters of Green Lake. Green Lake is always a happening place to be and their well-kept, 2.8-mile trail that circumvents the lake is another great option if you don’t feel like getting in the water. There are several access points that make it easy to embark on your Green Lake adventure, but you can also go for a swim along the East or West Lake Beach.

Looking to out of the city? Try any of the ferry rides that disembark from either the Seattle waterfront, which takes you to Bainbridge Island or Bremerton, or West Seattle’s Fauntleroy Terminal, which offers rides to Vashon Island and Southworth. And also not too far away, the Edmonds ferry will take you to Kingston, while the Mukilteo Ferry will take you to Whidbey Island.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not the biggest fan of snow driving, so a trip through or to the mountains during the summer is right up my alley. Whether it’s for a day-trip (hiking, mountain biking, etc.) or a longer trip (Leavenworth, skiing, snowboarding, etc.) there’s so much to do in Washington’s mountain towns, like Cle Elum, Wenatchee, or Glacier. Easy, 1-2 day trips are enjoyable, get you out of city, and totally refreshed for the upcoming workweek!

If you’re looking for something close by before the start of another workweek, you could try Mercer Island’s Sunday Farmer’s Market! Brimming with prepared eats, fresh-cut flowers, local and refreshing produce, and tons of other things, you can definitely fill the 10am-3pm their open and still have plenty of time to make it home and create a delicious meal or craft all from scratch!

What are you doing this week?

DIY Home Maintenance Tips & Tutorials to Help Save You Money In Seattle’s Crazy Housing Market

DIY Home Maintenance Tips & Tutorials to Help Save You Money In Seattle’s Crazy Housing Market

Home maintenance is something every homeowner manages. Even is you usually hire these things out, you might consider trying some do-it-yourself methods to save some cash (especially if you just bought in Seattle’s crazy housing market!)

If you’re looking to save a little cash, here are some things you can do to ensure you’re staying on top of your home maintenance!

Your washer and dryer are two major appliances you can easily clean and maintain yourself – and they only take about 15 minutes to do both! Your washer is a little more complicated, but not by much. There should be a drain pump filter (otherwise known as the coin trap) somewhere near the bottom of your washer. Open that and let the water drain into a bowl and dispose. Then you’ll want to clear and debris and close it back up! Other than the drain pump, you’ll want to look at the connector hoses, rubber gaskets, and clean the soap dispenser. Once that’s all done, you can toss in 1-2 cups of bleach into the drum and run it on a “clean washer cycle” overnight!

Summer time is when repair places have their largest uptick in refrigerator repairs, but with these steps you can easily prolong the life of your refrigerator and resolve issues before they arise. Some of these things are easy, like vacuuming your refrigerator coils monthly (or weekly if you have long-haired pets!), keeping tabs on your temperatures, ensuring there’s enough open air in both your freezer and refrigerator for air to flow freely, and replacing your water filter when the device tells you to. Other things might include manually defrosting your freezer, cleaning and replacing the rubber seal/gasket, and cleaning the drip pan. Here’s a quick and easy guide for your go-to refrigerator maintenance.

Roof inspections might seem daunting, but they’re pretty routine once you get in the swing of things. The main things you’ll want to look for are any obvious signs of damage (especially if you had a recent storm or any fallen branches); areas with moss, algae, or an excessive accumulation of leaves; any curling, missing, aging, or damaged shingles; granulation loss; or a number of other things outlined in this easy how-to.

The summery season is the best season to inspect and proactively resolve and problems with your sump pump – and many homes in Seattle and the surroundings areas have them. It’s easy to check to see if it’s still working, but you’ll still going to want to call a plumber if it doesn’t turn on! Here’s an easy step-by-step for checking!

During the end of summer, many people hire a landscaping company to shut off their sprinkler system. Though it might be more complicated depending on your system, expansiveness, and integration, here are some easy and relatively quick steps for shutting off and winterizing your sprinkler system! (https://brightnest.com/todos/shut-off-your-sprinkler-system)

When in doubt, it’s always a good choice to hire a professional inspector, but if you’re able to, you could definitely rack up the savings by doing some maintenance yourself! What DIY maintenance things do you do around the home?

Safety Tips to Keep the Summer Rolling Smoothly!

Safety Tips to Keep the Summer Rolling Smoothly!

Summer is a splendid time. There’s open air, summer barbeques, and tons of sunshine; but with all that comes tons of opportunities for issues to arise. We’ve compiled our favorite tips for staying safe in the season ahead!

Fireworks Safety: The 4th of July is right around the corner but that isn’t the only summer holiday where fireworks are used – and even one holiday is enough to warrant a safety list!

  • Always follow the instructions on the packaging.
  • Make sure to stay at a safe distance away from active fireworks.
  • Keep a supply of water on hand with easy access to more if needed.
  • Don’t leave fireworks out in the sunshine. Store in a dark, cool place.

Grilling/Barbecue Safety:

  • Clean your grill before using for the season.
  • Perform standard maintenance before your first grill (no leaky hoses, etc.)
  • Never leave a barbeque unsupervised.
  • Never grill indoors and keep the grill in the open air.
  • Use long-handed tools to reduce the risk of burning.
  • Let coals cool completely before disposal.

Beach Safety:

  • Keep tabs on local weather conditions.
  • Use the buddy system.
  • Have life-jackets on hand – and use them.
  • Keep an eye out for lake, sea, and ocean life.
  • Don’t dive headfirst.
  • Review safe boating practices with your family.

Travel Safety:

  • Don’t post publicly on your social accounts (so that people who aren’t friends with you) can see you aren’t at home.
  • Tell your best friend or local family members where you’re going and when you’ll be back (especially if you’ll be out of cell reception).
  • Ask a neighbor, relative, or friend to check on your house and bring in your mail periodically.
  • Request a hold on all mail, newspaper, and magazine subscriptions.

Sun Safety:

  • Increase your water intake.
  • Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun
  • Utilize sunscreen when appropriate.

Pup Safety:

  • Make sure your pet collar & microchip is up-to-date.
  • Ensure fresh water is available throughout the day (consider multiple bowls – indoor/outdoor).
  • Take your pets for walks before festivals and celebrations to help calm them down.
  • Check your property perimeter and fencing to ensure no escaping and replace/repair as needed.
  • Consider leaving the television or radio on to drown out any fireworks or other loud noises.

It’s summer times, so let the good times roll – and then best way to keep them going is to keep safety high in our minds!

Tired of Ice Cream? Try These Gelato Shops!

Tired of Ice Cream? Try These Gelato Shops!

The weather has been a bit spotty and overcast but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy cool treats – and if you’re tired of our ice cream posts, we’ve got gelato coming at you this week! One thing people can’t deny is that Seattle’s got variety and we’re going to share some of our favorite gelato places in and around the Greater Seattle Area!

Located south of Seattle, in Burien, Washington, The Mediterranean Zone Gelato Bar & Travel Café, otherwise known as MEDZO, is a great place to indulge in high-quality, artisan gelato and sorbet. Packed with natural ingredients and organic dairy, their exotic flavors include pistachio, salted hazelnut caramel, red velvet, grapefruit, rice, and tiramisu.

The Nutty Squirrel Gelato has a few locations, two in Seattle (Phinney Ridge & Magnolia and Maple Valley). Their explicit Italian flavors include stracciatella, French butter caramel, espresso, pink guava, and their classic “nutty squirrel.” In addition to their dairy-based flavors, they typically have a few vegan flavors “on ice” too!

Located in Walllingford and Fremont, the Fainting Goat offers great gelato and sorbetto, in a variety of off-the-wall flavors, including Tutti Frutti, fresh ginger, green tea, avocado, spicy chocolate, mango habanero, and mojito. These are perfect for summer-time treats! They rotate daily so you’ll never know what they have until you stop by and check them out!

In downtown Seattle, the Bottega Italiana is another high-trafficked and much-loved spot. Serving up authentic artisan gelato, each recipe is individually unique and is only made in small quantities to preserve flavor and ensure freshness. They have only the one location in the greater Seattle area, but if you’re ever in San Diego, make sure to check out their California locations.

Only a stone’s throw away from the last suggestion, Gelatiamo is another small batch and locally sourced gelato, locally known as a “Seattle tradition”. Their products include gelato which can be found at their brick-and-mortar or any of the dozens of local establishments that carry their product, gelato cakes, and frozen novelties.

In their 13th year (as of 2018), Sirena Gelato uses the likes of Turkish-imported, organic hazelnuts, black cocoa chocolate, and slow roasted pistachio nuts to create their one-of-a-kind, small-batch flavors. With two locations, one in Kirkland, Washington and another in Bremerton, Washington, they can serve you up delightful treats on either side of the peninsula! Sirena Gelato is surely to “entice those on an adventure – for a delicious treat!”

Join Us On Windermere’s Annual Community Service Day and Check Out These 11 Local Volunteer Opportunities!

Windermere’s Annual Community Service Day is almost here – it’s coming fast on Friday, June 8th, 2018!

A tradition dating back to 1984, Windermere owners, brokers, agents, and staff close up shop and coordinate with local organizations to make as much of an impact as possible. Last year, our Windermere Mercer Island office served as a drop off location for donations heading to Eastside Baby Corner and spent the day cleaning, sorting, and stocking at their Eastside, Issaquah location. And this year… we plan on doing it all over again!

If you’re unfamiliar with Eastside Baby Corner, they’re a passion-driven non-profit that supports our local communities, providing absolute essentials “for the most vulnerable children.’ By doing so, they’re able to focus on the things that matter: helping each and every child reach their “full potential tomorrow, by meeting their basic needs today.”

In commemoration with this annual Windermere event, this week we’re offering five of our favorite (though it’s hard to choose, because there are so many) places to volunteer at, the Eastside Baby Corner being the first on our list!

Another is Mary’s Place, a program dedicated to empowering homeless woman, children, and families to “reclaim their lives by providing shelter, nourishment, resources, healing and hope in a safe community.”

Third on our list is the Seattle Humane. A behemoth of local animal welfare, their mission is simple: Save Lives, Complete Families. By promoting human-animal bond they were able to provide support for nearly 7,000 pets in their 2016/17 fiscal year – and it doesn’t stop there. They also provide services and resources for the next step, after you’ve found your new best friend!

If you’re looking for a new pet, consider this blog post we created on local shelters and rescues.

HopeLink is another favorite that provides the basics to families and communities in need. By envisioning thriving communities, where “people feel secure, connected, and confident,” and analyzing detailed data that enables them to identify the issues, they’re able to make a massive impact by creating actionable steps to guide their movement. Hopelink’s Theory of Change identifies the basics for healthy individuals and families.

Last on our list today (although, like we said there are countless more) is Bike Works, which is a local, South Seattle organization that promotes activity, community, and learning experiences for youth and adults.

What are your favorite nonprofits to volunteer at, donate to, or just build awareness around?

The Seattle Area’s Top 7 Steakhouses: Carnivores Will Love This!

The Seattle Area’s Top 7 Steakhouses: Carnivores Will Love This!

Historically called “chophouses,” the modern-day steakhouse started in London in the 1690s and strictly served individual portions of meat; and only recently began offering other cuts of meat including poultry, prime rib, veal, fish, and seafoods. Our “version” of American steakhouses started in the late 19th century and have flourished ever since as a true American staple.

These seven (plus bonus) steakhouses are all well-regarded in the Seattle area, with some having national appraise.

Seattle’s Metropolitan Grill has been consistently voted the “best steak in town”. Each cut is individually selected and custom dry-aged with their own special blend of seasoning to ensure the most tender and flavorful meal. Located under their signature green awning, their classic-steakhouse vibe is reminiscent of their English equivalent.

Across from Denny Park in South Lake Union (SLU), the Butcher’s Block maintains their case with Mishima Reserve Wagyu beef. As part of Kurt Beecher’s eatery empire, this steakhouse offers fully authentic, full-bodied and flavorful foods, free of preservatives and anything artificial.

Premium meats, sourced from well-managed, small-scale farms and ranches, is what you’ll find at Flintcreek Cattle in Seattle’s Phinney Ridge neighborhood. Inspired by the free-roaming cattle ranges in the golden hills of Western Montana, their two-person founders team perfectly executed their passion with creativity and a lot of hard work and have produced one of the “the beast restaurants locally and across the country.”

A true Northwest Steakhouse Legacy, at El Gaucho, they offer unparalleled service coupled with carefully and thoughtfully executed nutrition creations. There are a handful of locations in the Greater Seattle and Portland areas, but all offer the same exquisite experience of exceptionality and impeccable service.

Another well-respected steakhouse can be found in Seattle’s Central Business District. The Capital Grille offers a special place for special occasions – and it often requires reservations. Their menu is in classic American style, with other options including swordfish, tuna, salmon, and lobster.

Another nighttime-only affair, Seven Beef features grass-fed and finished dry-aged Washington beef from Rochester. Standard cuts include Cote de Boeuf, Porterhouse, New York, Rib Eye, and T-Bones, but they also offer specialty cuts including Oyster, Zabuton, and Belly Steaks, among others. Each cut is in-house by their butcher and seared on their wood-fired grill to perfection.

Asadero isn’t your normal steakhouse. This Mexican steakhouse is known for their high-quality, mesquite-grilled meats similar to ones you’d find in Northern Mexico. This Seattle location offers an expanded menu compared to their Kent predecessor, and includes Prime beef cuts with American and Japanese Wagyu.

Our last bonus steakhouse is in Renton, Washington – about twenty minutes outside Seattle. Consistently regarded for their great fare, the Melrose Grill has received several accolades from the Seattle Times, the Tacoma News Tribune, and the Seattle Weekly.

Do you have a favorite local steakhouse we forgot to mention? Don’t forget to let us know!

5 Washington Zoos & Aquariums

5 Washington Zoos & Aquariums

It’s Summer – well, almost – and what better way to enjoy the weather than to see explore animals from across the globe?

The Woodland Park Zoo is an amazing experience for the entire family – and they’re constantly reimaging their spaces and how to better serve the animals and reptiles in their care. With 300+ species and over 1,000 different animals, they save animals and educate visitors. Woodland Park itself sees more than 1.3 million visitors annually, but they connect beyond the zoo and are active members of a global community of advocates and partners.

The Seattle Aquarium is an inspiration along the Seattle shoreline. Located between Seattle’s Waterfront Park and Piers 62 & 63, the aquarium offers opportunity to peer through the “Windows on Washington Waters”, as well as other exhibits including Life on the Edge, Pacific Coral Reefs, Birds & Shores, the Underwater Dome, and Marine Mammals. A major expansion in 2007 added 18,000 square feet, and another renovation in 2013 marked the first step of their 20-year strategic plan towards “significantly increasing [their] physical size and becoming the centerpiece of the City’s revitalized waterfront.”

Located in Issaquah Washington, backing Cougar Mountain, the Cougar Mountain Zoo offers understanding of conservation efforts through education and serves as a rallying point for endangered or threatened animals. Though their species pool isn’t as vast as other local zoos, they offer expert care for everyone and great learning resources for visitors and their surrounding schools and communities.

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is a combination of stellar land-roaming exhibits and undersea excursions. If you’re looking for a tropical vacation in the Pacific Northwest, give this zoo a try. Their South Pacific Aquarium features dozens of brightly colored tropical fish in a 24,000-gallon lagoon. They even have 5 different species of sharks in their 240,000-gallon Outer Reef environment. But that isn’t all, Point Defiance has tons of separate animal exhibits including the Asian Forest Sanctuary, Arctic Tundra, and Red Wolf Woods! Other activities include educational programs, garden tours, budgie buddies, a petting zoo, and other conservational efforts.

A little off the beaten path, the Northwest Trek Wildlife Park is dedicated to conservation, education, and recreation through native Northwest wildlife. The Discovery Tram is one of Northwest Trek’s main attractions, as it explores through the trees and wildlife and gets you up-close-and-personal with some of the mountain’s largest herbivores including the great moose, bison, swans, mountain goats, and bighorn sheep!

While these Washington zoos and aquariums have our stamp of approval – don’t be afraid to add your favorites below if we missed them!

The Top 12 Restaurants in Seattle’s Wallingford Neighborhood!

The Top 12 Restaurants in Seattle’s Wallingford Neighborhood!

Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood is located in north central Seattle, approximately four miles from the downtown core. Known for its suburban feel, its 45th Street activities are largely what the neighborhood offers for entertainment and eating. But don’t let that stop you from visiting. After trying one of the restaurant below, you can enjoy a quick retreat to nearby Green Lake.

So, what are our favorite Wallingford eateries?

Djan’s Thai Restaurant is housed in a historical 1930s Wallingford house, much like many boutiques and restaurants along 45th. Their innovative, though traditionally-rooted menu offers Thai creations with tantalizing flavors.

A Seattle favorite: Dick’s Drive In has had a cult-like following since they opened their first location. By 1954, when the first location opened (this very location), locals were delighted – even as other burger chains opened around the city, people have flocked to “Dick’s”.

We love baked goods – and Cube’s Baking Company offers a scrumptious array. Try their brownies, scones, puff pastries, mini cakes or conchas. Have an event coming up? They make custom cakes too! Their specialty? That’s right! “Cube” cakes.

Interested in boutique, Japanese cuisine? Yoroshiku illuminates Japanese food’s gastro-esque opportunities with their unique array of vegetable and seafood dishes. Though the weather’s been nice, they offer year-round ramen, both traditional and the often-overlooked tsukemen, which is a dipping style noodle dish served cold.

Fresh, local, and organic gelato can be found at Fainting Goat. Established in 2009, Fainting Goat is a small shop serving daily-handcrafted gelato. The organic milk used in their base is locally sourced in Lynden, Washington, as is the seasonal fruits.

If you’re craving a different sort of sweet treat, try Trophy Cupcakes, which is located in the Wallingford Center. They change their menu daily so check out their website for “today’s” assortment, but the gist is beautifully crafted, colorful, confetti-esque cupcakes.

Molly Moons – and I’m just starting to realize how many dessert places this list has on it – is a local ice creamery, serving unique and esoteric flavors. But don’t let that stop you! They have Original Strawberry alongside their Black Sesame and Hibiscus Tea Sorbet.

Another local favorite, Ramen Man, which is often referred to as the “unlimited eggs” ramen house. Dishing up traditional Japanese Ramen with a flavorful, chicken broth base, they’re both well-reviewed “delicious”!

Tilth is a new-American restaurant specializing in plates that utilize certified-organic or wild ingredients. As part of the Maria Hones Restaurants, Tilth made the New York Times as one of the best new restaurants in the country for their 2008 selection.

Seattle Pops is a people-centric “pops” stand with tons of flavors and options for all. Their fruit flavors are 100% vegan and their creamy pops are milk-based, while all their pops are totally gluten free. Their colorfulness is natural as they use the least amount of ingredients possible and bursting with flavor. They offer both traditional flavors and unique flavors.

If you’re looking for “good ‘ol American burgers, shakes & fries,” try Wally Burger. They serve hand-formed patties made from 100% locally pastured, grass-fed beef, topped with house made sauces and gluten-free buns.

The last on our list is known for “gathering goodness.” Or you can refer to them as Harvest Beat, a locally sourced eatery that specializes in farm-to-table eating. Their menu changes seasonally and often with limited ingredients, so check out their website t make a reservation!

Wallingford has a ton of food-places to offer – all you must do is walk down the strip and you’re tantalized with options! What are your favorite places to go?

Poke is the Hot, New Craze! Check Out These 5 Seattle Locations to Get Your Fix!

Poke is the Hot, New Craze! Check Out These 5 Seattle Locations to Get Your Fix!

It’s nearing summer and the heat is already ramping up! Have you been searching for places to dine where the food isn’t piping hot? We’ve been – and it’s a bit of an odd request, given Seattle’s usual weather and typically chilly climate.

But we’ve found a hot craze that’s right up summer’s alley. Poke, a Hawaiian dish, translates to “fish salad,” which is served with raw fish over rice or salad. Though it’s traditionally served as an appetizer, eating it as the entre is perfectly normal. So what awesome poke places can be found around Seattle?

The 45th Stop N Shop & Poke Bar is located in Wallingford off, well, North 45th Street. This stop is perfect for a bite to eat but be prepared to wait. Many reviewers and patrons have noted lines that exit the building and continue down the street! It must be good…

In Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood, you’ll find FOB Poke Bar, a modernly designed and aesthetically pleasing poke bar creating “culinary masterpieces” from natural and fresh ingredients.

With other 500 well-regarded reviews, goPoke Seattle churns passion and creativity and produces poke bowls of every style, variety, and colorful flavors. Whether their creations or your own, you’ll enjoy their sweet tango tuna or classic salmon.

In the north end, Hiroshi’s Poke is just off “the Ave” in the University District. Their quaint shop offers an intimate gathering space, with an industrial deco inside. Tons of sides and poke options!

Our last stop on this poke ride is Poke Lover in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, just off Market Street. With cute style, their décor meshes Seattle’s concrete, industrial feel, with floral patterns and twisted iron tables. And their poke isn’t shabby either, plus you’ll enjoy complimentary miso soup!

Poke is so popular right now, there is bound to be one in or near the neighborhood you are planning on hanging out in. What are your favorite poke places in the Seattle area?

Check Out These Top 9 Mountain Towns to Visit!

If you’re planning a day-trip, right now might be the best time to start.

Though summer trips might seem forever away, booking and planning now may relieve some future headaches. These towns are some of our favorites day or weekend trips within a short drive from the Greater Seattle area.

North Bend, Washington has its own sort of historic and small-town charm, plus it was the beautiful backdrop of the 2017 reboot of Twin Peaks! Nestled in the Cascade’s western foothills, the small town of North Bend is only a short and easy 30-minute drive east from Seattle.

North Bend is a quick drive into the neighboring town of Snoqualmie. They are connected by State Route 202, otherwise known as Railroad Avenue – along which they hold the annual Thomas the Tank Engine event.

These close-by areas are great for hiking, day-trips out of the city, and general sightseeing. The Snoqualmie Falls is just north of Snoqualmie and North Bend and is an amazing activity for the entire family, attracting more than 1.5 million visitors annually.

Further into the mountains, you’ll pass Leavenworth, Washington – another small town made for cozy stories. Though you might know of Leavenworth for the annual Winter-time festival and legendary Oktoberfest celebrations, don’t think those are the only times one should visit this cozy mountain retreat.

Other activities include checking out the local breweries, spas and personal retreats, majestic parks and hiking, local wineries, stilling your body with yoga, and Leavenworth tours. If you’re more the outdoorsy type, check out their majestic parks for river rafting, kayaking, river tubing, golfing, hiking, horseback riding, camping, birding, and awesome (and quick!) ziplines! Explore. More.

Elbe, Washington is a small town off State Route 706, at the junction of State Route 7. Though there isn’t much in terms of formal lodging, there are opportunities for camping and RVing, or just a casual day trip.

Enjoy Alder Lake and the Nisqually River or explore the surrounding wilderness on horseback. There’s even a small museum to check out – and the local diners are pretty great too!

If you’re thinking about spending a few days, check out Mineral, Washington – which is only a short, 10-minute drive from Elbe down State Route 7. Not only do they offer a few resorts and lodging options along Mineral Lake and Mineral Hill Road, there are other fishing and boating opportunities.

Cle Elum, Washington is another pretty well-known town in the Eastern Cascades. Though relatively small, the area offers dozens of close-knit communities, including the neighboring towns of Roslyn, Ronald, and Lakedale, Washington. These places are all within about 30-minutes of each other, and all located off State Route 903.

Cle Elum is by far the largest in this string of small mountain towns, and has a decent amount of recreation including the Washington State Horse Park, the Prospector Golf Course, and nearby Suncadia Resort, which offers a wide array of exclusive recreation.

Whether you’re looking for a day away or an entire week, these are amazing options in the Cascades. Small mountain towns can be difficult to pin point but planning in advance helps alleviate some of the foreseeable inconveniences.

Eastside Farmer’s Markets Are Starting! But, Where Are They?

Eastside Farmer’s Markets Are Starting! But, Where Are They?

Farmers Markets are a great way for local farmers to get into our communities, meeting their patrons face-to-face. Farmers Markets are also a great way for everyone to get involved in the community and help their communities grow and flourish in a sustainable and healthy manner.

Why choose farmers markets? Farmers Markets are great for our local communities, including job creation, local economy stimulation, increased nutrition awareness and access to fresh ingredients and supporting healthy families on both sides of the table. Want to know more?

Starting from the south, Renton holds their Farmers Market on Tuesdays, June through September/October from 3pm-7pm. This year, in 2018, the Farmers’ Market opens June 5th, 2018. Join them at the Piazza Park in downtown Renton.

Though their 2018 Season hadn’t been released yet, their 2017 should give you an idea of their awesome lineups to come! Check back frequently, as we’re still a couple months away from the start date!

In May, the Issaquah Farmers Market opens on Saturdays – rain or shine! Open from 9am-2pm between May 5th to September 29th, the Issaquah market is a great place for children and family activities, cooking demonstrations, handmade arts and crafts, live music and entertainment, and of course, farm-fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables!

The Mercer Island Farmers Markets runs on Sundays between the months of June and October, from 10am to 3pm, making them a break activity for morning breakfast and lunch or a family-friendly morning out of the house!

The weekly schedule is on their website, so feel free to check it out to get a feel how each week will vibe – and don’t forget about their special events, where they hold food and drink tastings, giveaways and live music!

Celebrating 15 years of fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables, the Bellevue Farmers Market operates on Thursdays, every week from May through October. Enjoy fresh-cut flowers, meats and one-of-a-kind artisan foods.

Whether you want to stop by for the entire event or a just a on-the-go snack, this small group of local farmers create a vibrant marketplace for farm-fresh products, closing the gap between harvest and consumer. They’re open on Thursdays, between 3pm and 7pm starting May 17th through October 11th!

The last market on our list for Eastside Farmers Markets is the Redmond Farmers Market, which is held near the Redmond Town Center, making parking a breeze! Open May through October from 9am to 3pm, their Saturday market welcomes their 43rd season this year with a special event – the Redmond High School Pep Band will kick off the season with a “rousing performance!”

Sometimes Seattle markets are harder to get to and offer little in terms of parking opportunities and while they’re just as thrilling, sometimes we don’t want the small hassle. These Eastside markets are great opportunities for the same amazing and local quality, but without the hustle and bustle of the city.

Didn’t find the one you were searching for? Check out this mega-list of Puget Sound markets!

10 Breathtaking Washington Islands

10 Breathtaking Washington Islands

One of the many things Washington is known for is its astounding beauty and plethora of outdoorsy excursions; and while many of our islands offer their own brand of style and comforts, they all offer an amazing vacation. While these aren’t (by far) the only islands Puget Sound and the Straits offer, they are prominent vacation destinations.

There are three islands to the north, sometimes referred to as the San Juan Islands, that rock against the United States-Canada border. Though they largely comprise the three main islands, Orcas, Lopez, and San Juan Islands, there are 172 named island and reefs within the San Juan County, all closely guarded between Washington and Victoria, BC.

This massive archipelago is largely only accessible by air or water, with none of the islands with close enough proximity to for other options. Dozens of ferry options connect the islands. But that’s all right. An easy island-vibe leaves you refreshed after a few moments.

The three major islands listed above hold most of the lodging and dining options for visitors. Horseshoe-shaped Orcas Island is otherwise known as the “Gem of the San Juans” – and if you’re curious why, you’ll have to check it out for yourself! Lopez Island is known for its friendliness, far away from the Seattle-freeze we’ve all grown so accustomed to. And San Juan Island holds the secrets from the Washington’s past, including an alpaca ranch, a lavender farm, a winery with historic tasting room, and more!

Another sibling pair are the Whidbey and Camano Islands. Either great options for escaping the hustle and bustle of nearby Seattle, these islands offer a rural getaway with wide-open beaches, scenic vistas, outdoor adventures, and other great shopping and dining options!

The smaller of the two, Camano Island is a great place for a day-trip or weekend getaway. Only an hour north of Seattle, they offer a plethora of activities from golfing, to art to island and state parks, the options are endless.

Whidbey Island hugs its little sibling, protecting it from the harshness of Straits. As of the fourth largest island in the contiguous United States, it’s a diverse island that offers some of the best Pacific Northwest Retreats. Visit Deception Pass, small towns, or ingrain scenic views of the Puget Sound and far-off mountains into your mind. Or enjoy small shops and boutiques, galleries, or any of the other countless annual festivals they hold throughout the year.

Moving closer to Seattle, Bainbridge Island is just a short ferry ride across the water. With a history and natural beauty, Bainbridge Island offers acres of parks, miles of trails, historical sights, and tons of attractions and celebrations. A photographer’s paradise, enjoy picturesque views of the Olympic Mountain Range and Puget Sound, with stunning and colorful sunset to boot! Try the golf club, rock gym, sailing, or scuba dive at Exotic Aquatics.

Blake Island Marine State Park is a bit different than the other islands on this list. First off, it’s a largely uninhabited island that serves as a preserved showcase for Northwest Coast Indian arts, culture, and foods; and is only accessible via private boat or private tour. The main attraction is Tillicum, a Native American meal and cultural event, but other activities include scuba diving, kayaking, hiking, camping, and bird-watching. You can also dig for clams – yum, razor clams! Check out the Argosy Cruises’ Tillicum Excursion for more information on the Tillicum event!

Vashon Island is another near-Seattle adventure, with a direct ferry ride that departs from West Seattle’s Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal. Small strawberry farms operate throughout the island, playing tribute to its origins as a heavy strawberry cultivator. Beautiful beaches, eclectic shops and restaurants… It’s not wonder many flock to the area for a short day-trip or extended, island stay.

Just minutes from Tacoma, Fox Island is a unique island community with picturesque views of Mount Rainier, McNeil Island, the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, and the Olympic Mountain Range – you can even see Tanglewood Island’s iconic lighthouse!

The last one is probably the closest to Seattle, but Mercer Island packs a ton of fun into one, tiny island. Dozens of parks of water opportunities are unique to the Island and with its proximity to Seattle and the Eastside, you’re only a short trip to and from home! Luther Burbank, Aubrey Davis Park, Mercerdale Park, Island Crest Park, and Pioneer Park are among the local favorites; but other activities include several Spring and Summer festivals (including Summer Celebration), the Mercer Island Farmers’ Market on Sundays, their NEW Earth Day Celebration, their Movies in the Park series, and more!

Sometimes, you need a cup of coffee. Sometimes, you need an entire island to rejuvenate your senses. These local options are great for invigorating your senses and helping your city-worries melt away – and they’re nearby location means you don’t have to stay “on island” if you don’t want to!

What are you favorite Washington islands to visit?
